Dartmouth Food Festival

Dartmouth hosts a festival celebrating food every October, and of course, Head Chef Elly Wentworth is always delighted to be involved. It is a fantastic time to visit; described in The Telegraph as a ‘heady mix of celebrity chefs, parties, food markets, tasting shacks and demonstrations’, the festival is now a landmark event on the culinary calendar.

This year Elly is joined by her friend and previous Great British Menu competitor, Olivia Barry, Chef/Owner of Adelina Yard, for not one, but two nights of fantastic Tasting Menus in the Angel on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 October. Adelina Yard is an imaginative venue for locally sourced fine dining, creating outstanding food. Olivia is a born and bred Bristol girl, previously working under Angela Hartnett at her Michelin-starred Murano in Mayfair, London. The two friends have come up with an outstanding menu for our guests to enjoy!
Special Guest
We also have a surprise! Announcing our special guest for the Food Fest weekend… Stephane Delorme, the Group Chef for Rick Stein. Elly is absolutely thrilled Stephane will be joining her and Liv, where he will be ‘cuisiner une tempête’ for the food fest demo at 3 pm on Saturday 22 October, AND be preparing the fish course for their sumptuous tasting menu on Saturday evening for our lucky diners!
Stephane says…
“I’ve been living in the South West of England and working for the Stein family for 25 years. Seafood is a great love of mine, so it’s the perfect place for me to play with all the great products the area produces. Originally from Brittany, just a short swim across the water, the South West feels like home. I’ve been involved with the Dartmouth Food Festival for many years; it’s one of my favourite places in Devon, and known Elly for a long time. When she asked me to do some cooking at the Angel restaurant and a demo for the festival with her and Olivia Barry, I was flattered and pleased to be invited to join these two talented chefs.”
